2019 International Meet
The Central Iowa Chapter is excited to host the 2019 International Meet! Our concept for this meet was to find an outstanding hotel (done), with great room rates (check), and a few outstanding events at a reasonable cost (see below!), fantastic parking lots for our Hudsons (check), shaded swap meet space (check), short distance between rooms, meeting spaces, and Hudsons (check) and plenty of space for Hudson folk to sit together and talk in air conditioning (check and check).
Theme will be: “Celebrating a Century of Essex… Along the Mississippi”

· Sunday-Thursday - $84.99 - King or Two Double (tax and facility fee: $100.99/night)
· Friday and Saturday - $109.99 - King or Two Double (tax and facility fee: $129.18/night)

· Wednesday, July 17th 1-4PM
o Tour of Rock Island Arsenal: $15 per person. The Rock Island Arsenal is an active US Army facility located on a 946-acre island on the Mississippi River between the Quad Cities of Davenport, Iowa and Rock Island and Moline, Illinois. Tour attendees will be divided into three groups and required to ride provided buses (sorry no individual vehicles) and will rotate between three different locations for 50 minutes each:
o The Mississippi River Visitors Center, located at Lock & Dam 15 provides an excellent vantage point to observe and learn about the function of the lock and dam system and the importance of barge traffic on the river.
o The Rock Island Arsenal Museum is the second oldest U.S. Army museum. The museum is well known for its significant weapons collection.
o Quarters One (also known as Building 301), at 51 rooms and 21,965 square feet, Quarters One is the second-largest federal residence in the United States, behind the White House
· Thursday, July 18th 6-9 pm
o Celebration Belle Dinner Cruise: $55 per person– leaving from Isle pier!!
Traveling in style on the “Celebration Belle”, a 750-passenger paddlewheel boat specifically designed for cruising the great Mississippi River. The Dinner Cruises offer a special night out on the mighty Mississippi River. Dinner menu consists of Our Famous Carved Prime Rib and Baked Cranberry Glazed Boneless Breast of Chicken, Alfredo Pasta with Vegetables, Chef’s choice of Potato & Vegetable, Tossed spring salad with peach dressing, 2 Cold Salads, Rolls and butter, Dessert, Coffee and Iced Tea are complimentary with dinner and the “Belle” has fully stocked bars onboard.

Hosted by the New England Chapter at the Double Tree by Hilton. Rates: $129.00; Rates available 3 days prior and 3 days after; airport 1.9 miles with free shuttle. Regional Meet with banquet: Sunday, July 26. Welcome BBQ Monday eve: July 27. Spirit of Ethan Allen dinner Cruise on Lake Champlain Tuesday evening July 28.
