A Day in Dannevirke

A visit to our friends in the east is well over due, so Stu and Gael Harper have kindly arranged a day out in their home patch - Dannevirke .

The plan is to check out progress on the restoration of their 1939 Hudson 112 convertible and also do a garage raid on Nick Boblea (37 Terraplane) and John Tacon (30 Essex Challenger) plus have a group BYO picnic lunch somewhere locally - hot water provided.

Meet 9.45am in Woodville Main Street (arrive earlier to visit 2nd hand shops if desired)

Regroup 10.45am approx in Dannevirke at or near the BP service station -south end of town. Stu Harper will lead us to our various destinations, all a short distance from this meeting point and events will conclude before 3pm to allow for homeward travel. So "mark-up" your calendars and please let us know if you are planning to attend by 17 November.

Southern Indiana/Kentucky Chapter’s Holiday Party

Kokomo, Indiana

The party will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 6:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.  The location is the Half Moon Restaurant and Brewery, 4051 S. Lafountain, Kokomo, IN 46902 (765) 455-2739.  Half Moon has an extensive menu which you can view on line.  Plan on spending about $30 for your meal, tax and tip, depending upon what you order.  We have a table reserved in the name of Southern Indiana/Kentucky Chapter.  Also, be sure you bring a white elephant gift for our gift exchange—find something you don’t need that will be another’s treasure or spend a minimal amount—$10 or $15.  You can see the Half Moon Restaurant from 931. The meet will be held from 2-5 at 131 Retreat Road, Bluemont VA 20135.  Please join us to celebrate the season and enjoy some good food and camaraderie. Tri-State themed Door Prizes will be awarded!

What to bring:

So Cal Chapter joint meet with the Packard Club

Los Angeles, California

Celebrate the Christmas Season with a visit to the Heritage Square Museum by way of Gus’s BBQ.

11:00 AM - Meet at Gus’s BBQ, 808 Fair Oaks Ave., South Pasadena for a BBQ lunch. 

12:30 PM - Leave for the Heritage Square Museum, 800 Homer Street in Los Angeles off the 110 Fwy, Exit 27, E Ave. 43. The 1 hr 15 minute tours start on the hour. Admission is $10 adults, $8 Seniors (covered by SCC for the holiday season).

Meritt Marks Memorial Meet

For many years the Orange Blossom Chapter of the Hudson-Essex-Terraplane Club has sponsored a multi-day Winter Meet. A number of years ago the Meet became known as the “Meritt Marks Memorial Winter Meet” in honor of our HET Club’s wonderful and gracious Founding Father. The meet will be held at the Fisherman’s Cove, 3950 N. Eichelberger Road in Tavares, FL, 32778. Southern IN/KY Winter Meet

Indianapolis, Indiana

Larry and Sue Kennedy will host a joint  Winter Meet with the Indy Chapter of the Studebaker Drivers Club and the Southern Indiana/Kentucky Chapter of the Hudson Club starting 1:00 PM EDST. This meet with be held at the Franklin Township Civic League, 8822 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, IN  46239 (located two houses beyond the Ordinary in downtown Wanamaker).  Hosts will provide a meat dish, water, coffee and iced tea. Bring your place settings and a dish or dessert to share.  This facility is handicapped accessible and has a handicapped restroom, but no kitchen facilities.  There are lots of electrical outlets for crockpots and plenty of parking spaces.  The Indy Studebaker Chapter will have their annual fund raising auction following lunch.  If you have questions, contact Larry Kennedy (317) 862-202

Southern IN/KY & Northern IN-OH Chapters Joint Crank-up meet

Englewood, Ohio

This Meet will be joint with the Northern Indiana-Ohio Chapter and hosted by Wesley and Sharon Fenton, beginning at 10:30 a.m., lunch served at noon EDST. Bring your Hudson, your lawn chair and your favorite covered dish or dessert. A meat dish and drinks will be provided.  Children and collector cars are welcome. Meet will be held at NATMUS Museum in Auburn, Indiana 10:00am to 5:00pm. Hosted at the National Automotive & Truck Museum, 1000 Gordon M. Buehrig Place, Auburn, IN 46706. Registration fee will be the group rate into the museum, $7 per adult.
